Charles Okehalam is a former professor of finance at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he held the Donald Gordon Chair in Banking and Finance and the Liberty Life Chair in Financial Economics. He co-founded an investment firm and has served as a director and chairman of major African private sector companies. His expertise spans economics, investment strategies, and financial policy, with extensive advisory roles for central banks, governments in sub-Saharan Africa, the World Bank, IMF, and United Nations.

Research Interests: Focuses on financial institutions in Africa, regulatory frameworks, macroeconomic policy, and the intersection of finance with development economics.
