Julia J. Chybowski is a Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she teaches global musics, Western music history surveys, African American studies, country music, music and social justice, and research seminars. Her research focuses on nineteenth-century American musical cultures and the history of music education, integrating archival work with critical race and gender studies.
