Julia Henderson-Kalb is an Associate Professor and Program Director in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences. She holds a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) and Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Saint Louis University, along with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Administration and Services from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
Her research focuses on geriatric care, including coordinating multidisciplinary teams to provide free holistic screenings for aging adults through an HRSA Grant under the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program. She emphasizes student reflection in occupational therapy (OT) education and integrating occupational justice into clinical practice. Prior research includes multidisciplinary teamwork at SLU's ALS Clinic and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for dementia patients.
She is affiliated with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Missouri Occupational Therapy Association, and Illinois Occupational Therapy Association. Her work also involves grant-supported initiatives to enhance geriatric healthcare education and access.
