Julia Groot is a Lecturer and Postgraduate Research Student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath. Her research focuses on the effectiveness of digital health technologies to support mental health and wellbeing, particularly examining engagement dynamics in diverse populations including autistic individuals. She is supervised by Dr. Ben Ainsworth, Professor Mark Brosnan, and Dr. Christopher Clarke, and her work is funded by the ESRC SWDTP and Cyberlimbic Systems Ltd.

Research Interests: Digital mental health interventions, individual differences in intervention efficacy, autism and technology, behavioral interventions, and public health strategies. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and education.
Recent Work: Her 2023 studies address mindfulness research challenges and meta-analyses of digital interventions, while earlier work (2021-2022) explored pandemic-related behaviors like infection control and testing engagement through qualitative methods.
Affiliations: She is affiliated with the Centre for Motivation and Behaviour Change, Bath Centre for Mindfulness and Compassion, and the Centre for Applied Autism Research.
