Dr. Julia Baird is an Associate Professor at Brock University's Department of Geography and Tourism Studies and Director of the Environmental Sustainability Research Centre (ESRC). She holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Human Dimensions of Water Resources and Water Resilience. Her research focuses on water governance, resilience in social-ecological systems, and agricultural sustainability. She has a Ph.D. in Environment and Sustainability from the University of Saskatchewan.
Her work integrates interdisciplinary approaches to study decision-making in water management, emphasizing resilience frameworks and adaptive governance. Key areas include collaborative environmental stewardship, socio-ecological system modeling, and climate change adaptation strategies.
