Jukka Syväterä

Jukka Syväterä is an Academy Research Fellow in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki and a former visiting researcher at the WZB Global Governance Unit. His research spans political sociology, transnational sociology, and science studies, with a current focus on the evolving role of scientific expertise in parliamentary policymaking. Recent investigations analyze the epistemic authority of organizations and the domestication of global policy models.

His work critically examines how scientific knowledge is legitimized and utilized in political decision-making processes across national and transnational contexts.
