Jui-Heng (Henry) Tseng is an Assistant Professor at the School of Life Sciences and member of the ASU-Banner Neurodegenerative Disease Research Center at Arizona State University. His research focuses on molecular and cellular mechanisms linking normal aging to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
Education:
- PhD, University of South Carolina
- BS, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan
- Postdoctoral Training, University of North Carolina
His laboratory investigates how aging triggers pathological protein aggregation and neuronal death, with emphasis on tau protein and synucleinopathies. Current projects explore mitochondrial dysfunction, protein acetylation, and novel therapeutic strategies.
Scientific Awards:
- Most Interdisciplinary Research Award (GAINS Neuroscience Symposium, 2025)
- Third Place Award (SOLS Undergraduate Research Symposium, 2025)
The lab advises students and researchers across multiple programs including Neuroscience Graduate Program, Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program, and Barrett Honors College. Notable advisees include NIH T32 Fellow Abigail Wohlfert and ASU AI Scholar Beisha Hernandez.
