Juganta Roy

Juganta Roy is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Physics, Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, West Texas A&M University. He joined the department in August 2023, bringing expertise in computational chemistry and renewable energy materials.

Dr. Roy’s research focuses on renewable energy and sustainable environments, particularly designing efficient dye-sensitizers for solar cells and exploring photocatalysts. He employs computational tools like density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics, machine learning, and first-principles approaches to predict material properties and develop structure-activity relationships. His work also emphasizes multiscale modeling of chemical processes on nanomaterials.

He teaches General Chemistry and Physical Chemistry at WTAMU. Additionally, he co-edited the book Development of Solar Cells: Theory and Experiment (Springer, 2021). Further details about his research can be found on his lab website.
