Judy Gearhart

Judy Gearhart is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University since 2001, co-teaching Human Rights and the Politics of Inequality. She has been a Senior Researcher at the Accountability Research Center (ARC) since 2020. Previously, she served as Executive Director of the International Labor Rights Forum (2011–2020) and Programs Director at Social Accountability International (2000–2012). Her expertise spans trade, labor rights, gender equity, and corporate accountability. Gearhart holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, focusing on Human Rights and Economic Development, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Saint Joseph's University.

Research Focus: Current work emphasizes the intersection of government and corporate accountability, with a focus on transnational organizing strategies. Her research often involves grassroots advocacy in Mexico and Honduras, leveraging her experience with UNICEF, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and NGOs.
