Judy Tint is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Music Business program at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. With over 30 years of experience as an attorney, consultant, and producer in the entertainment industry, she specializes in legal advocacy for artists, industry consulting, and event production. She holds degrees from Rutgers College and Columbia Law School.

Research & Advocacy: Judy focuses on artists’ rights, entertainment industry legal frameworks, and the intersection of law with music business operations. She has lectured globally on topics like intellectual property, industry trends, and advocacy, collaborating with organizations such as SXSW, Women in Music, and The Practicing Law Institute. She previously served as Immediate Past Chair of the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries.
Grants & Initiatives: Co-developed the Rhythm & Blues Foundation’s Performance Grants Program to support veteran artists. Advocated for artists’ rights during Capitol Hill lobbying efforts and managed UNICEF’s celebrity spokesperson recruitment during her UN tenure.
Labs/Teams: Active with the Rhythm & Blues Foundation, producing events like the Pioneer Awards and the Newport Rhythm and Blues Festival. Collaborates with organizations including WhyHunger, Nordoff-Robbins Foundation, and Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Produced high-profile projects such as the “The Rites of Rhythm and Blues” album and Lincoln Center concert series with Marianne Williamson.
