Judith Sixsmith is a Professor of Health Related Research and Health Sciences at the University of Dundee. She holds adjunct roles as Visiting Professor and Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University. Her work focuses on gerontology, palliative care, dementia care, and ethical technology in aging. She leads interdisciplinary projects addressing health equity, community inclusion, and age-friendly ecosystems.
Her research explores aging in place, advance care planning, and intersectional perspectives for marginalized older adults. Key contributions include co-producing policies for Roma communities and developing ethical frameworks for AgeTech. Projects emphasize participatory methods and transdisciplinary collaboration.
Recent work includes the INCLUDEAGE initiative on digital inclusion and the ICE-TEA consortium on AgeTech ethics. She has received awards for fostering intergenerational storytelling and inclusive research practices. Over 238 publications span qualitative methodologies, health policy analysis, and innovative care models.
