JProf. Dr. Judith Rauscher is a Junior Professor for American Literature and Culture at the University of Cologne since 2020. Her research bridges ecocriticism, mobility studies, and speculative fiction, with a focus on 19th-21st century American poetry of migration. She previously held research and teaching positions at the University of Bamberg (2012-2020) and served in leadership roles, including as Postgraduate Forum Spokesperson for the German Association for American Studies.

Her research interests include American poetry of migration, ecocriticism, speculative fiction, and gender studies. Her 2023 monograph Poetic Place-Making analyzes works by Derek Walcott, Agha Shahid Ali, Etel Adnan, Juliana Spahr, and Craig Santos Perez through ecological and mobility frameworks. Her article trends show engagement with postcolonial environmentalism, queer ecologies, and technoscientific imaginaries.
