Heather Milne is an Associate Professor at the Cultural Studies Faculty, University of Winnipeg. Her work bridges contemporary poetics, queer theory, and cultural studies, focusing on intersections of gender, sexuality, and affect.
- Co-director of the SSHRC-funded Museum Queeries project
- Member of the international Thinking Through the Museum partnership
Her research examines neoliberalism, posthumanism, and queer ecopoetics in North American feminist poetry. She has authored Poetry Matters: Neoliberalism, Affect, and the Posthuman in Twenty-First Century North American Feminist Poetics (2018) and co-edited Prismatic Publics: Innovative Canadian Women’s Poetry and Poetics (2009).
Recent publications analyze works by Syd Zolf, Sina Queyras, and Juliana Spahr, exploring affective economies and political lyricism. Current projects include the forthcoming Museum Queeries volume (Jagiellonian University Press) and a 2024 special issue of Canadian Literature on feminist criticism.
