Judith Meyers is President & CEO of the Children’s Fund of Connecticut and its subsidiary, the Child Health and Development Institute of Connecticut. She holds faculty appointments as Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale University School of Medicine’s Child Study Center and at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Pediatrics and Psychiatry. Her work focuses on improving child health outcomes through integrated community-based care systems.
- Education: PhD (University of Colorado, 1976), Postdoctoral Fellowships (Yale University School of Medicine, 1977; Yale School of Medicine, 1982), Congressional Science Fellow (American Association for the Advancement of Science, 1983).
Research Interests: Children’s mental health, child welfare policy, and systemic reforms to enhance access to integrated healthcare. Her advocacy emphasizes evidence-based approaches to community health equity and family-centered care.
Awards: Recognized with the Jance C. Bournes Award for Excellence (2007) and the Yale Consultation Center’s Excellence in Prevention Award (2005).
Leadership Roles: Former Senior Policy Advisor to Governor Dukakis, Iowa’s Commissioner of Child & Family Services, and Senior Associate at the Annie E. Casey Foundation. She chairs APA’s Committee on Children, Youth, and Families and served as Division President for Child, Youth, and Family Services.
Labs/Teams: Active in interdisciplinary initiatives at the Child Health and Development Institute, focusing on translational research and policy implementation.
