Judith Maria Poersch is a Research Fellow in Human Geography at the Institute of Geography, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. She holds a Master of Education in Geography and French from JGU Mainz (2015-2019) and studied at Université de Bourgogne Franche-Comté Dijon in 2014/2015.
- Current research focuses on maritime geoethics, transnational identity, and environmental responsibility in the North Sea Region
- Active in legal geography analyses of energy politics and ocean literacy
- Member of Verband der Geographen an Deutschen Hochschulen (VGDH), Gutenberg Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (GSHS), and Koninklijk Nederlands Aardrijkskundig Genootschap (KNAG)
Her publications examine the intersection of legal frameworks, energy transitions, and North Sea governance. She teaches seminars on legal geographies, blue transformations, and empirical research methods.
