Jud Campbell is a Professor of Law at Stanford Law School, where he joined the faculty in 2023. He previously held professorships at the University of Richmond School of Law and served as a visiting professor at the University of Chicago Law School and Harvard Law School. His research focuses on constitutional history and First Amendment law, with publications in leading journals like the Stanford Law Review and Yale Law Journal.
He earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School, clerked for federal judges on the Seventh and Second Circuits, and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and two master’s degrees from the London School of Economics. As a Helen L. Crocker Faculty Scholar, he has contributed to constitutional discourse through his academic roles and publications.
