Charles Campbell, also referred to as Dean Campbell, joined Faulkner University's faculty in 2007. He holds a B.S. in International Business from Auburn University (1988) and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law (1993). Prior to his academic role, he served as a judicial clerk for Judge Emmett R. Cox on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and worked in private legal practice in Montgomery and Birmingham. In 2000, he became an Assistant Attorney General in Alabama, focusing on constitutional law and civil rights, particularly the First, Eleventh, and Fourteenth Amendments, state immunity, and election law. He later worked as Deputy Chief Counsel to Senator Jeff Sessions, handling legislative analysis, drafting, hearings, and judicial nominations review.

His research and teaching focus on Constitutional Law, Civil Rights, International Law, and Legal Procedure, with a particular emphasis on state immunity, constitutional amendments, and procedural reforms in litigation. Recent articles highlight his expertise in international legal service and pleading standards, particularly under the Hague Service Convention and Bell Atlantic Corp v. Twombly rulings. These works span sub-fields such as cross-border litigation, judicial precedent, and constitutional challenges in civil procedure.
