Juan Pous de la Flor

Juan Pous de la Flor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological and Mining Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, holding his current position since February 2023. He is an active member of the Sustainability in Construction and Industry research group since February 2011.

His academic qualifications include:

• Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention and Safety in Mining, Energy, Underground Works and Related Industries (Polytechnic University of Madrid and Ministry of Labor, 2004)
• Advanced Training Course for University Teaching (Institute of Educational Sciences, Polytechnic University of Madrid, 1998)

His research integrates Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Renewable Energy with strong emphasis on sustainable infrastructure development. He pioneered the award-winning "SMILE! Smart Infrastructure for sustainable Energy" project, demonstrating practical applications of energy-efficient solutions in construction and mining contexts.
