Angel Vega Remesal

Angel Vega Remesal is a University Professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) in the Department of Energy and Fuels, serving since February 10, 1998. He holds leadership roles in critical safety research infrastructure at UPM.

His research spans industrial safety in explosive atmospheres with strong interdisciplinary focus across energy systems, mining operations, and engineering disciplines. Work integrates chemistry, mechanical/electrical engineering, and computer science applications to address safety challenges in fuel and mining industries.

He has been a core member of the Industrial Safety: Explosive Atmospheres research group since June 14, 2005, and serves as Director of the Technological Center for Safety and Quality in Energy and Mining Industries (TECMINERGY) since March 5, 2022, driving institutional safety standards.
