Juan Gallegos

Juan Gallegos is a Lecturer in Clarinet at the University of California, Santa Barbara's Department of Music, alongside teaching roles at the Schwab Music Academy at Ventura College. Previously, he served as Music Director and Conductor for the Diamond Youth Symphony Orchestra and has been on faculty at Riverside City College.

His multifaceted career spans performance, conducting, and education. As a clarinetist, he performs with prestigious orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony, and Santa Barbara Symphony, and contributes to major motion picture scores (e.g., Toy Story, Star Wars, La La Land). He actively champions new music, participating in world premieres such as Brett Kroneing’s Fuego and operas by Kerrie Makan and Anthony Davis.

Gallegos has performed internationally across Europe, South Korea, and Australia (Sydney Opera House). He regularly conducts masterclasses at universities in Los Angeles. His expertise bridges classical performance, contemporary compositions, and educational mentorship.
