معرفی
Joyce Vissenberg is a research fellow at the Lab for Media Culture & Policy, KU Leuven, Belgium. Her work revolves around media literacy, digital skills, and youth-media interaction, with a strong emphasis on evaluating interventions that boost young people’s resilience to online misinformation.
Research focus
Vissenberg investigates how adolescents evaluate the credibility of online news, how parental mediation shapes digital-literacy trajectories, and how multi-stakeholder governance can foster effective media-literacy policies. She combines systematic reviews, cross-national surveys, and policy-oriented deliverables to bridge research and practice.
Recent publications
Across 2024-25 she has led or co-authored a series of high-impact outputs—including systematic evidence reviews, intervention evaluations, and practitioner guidelines—within the EU-funded REMEDIS consortium. These works converge on designing, assessing, and scaling media-literacy programmes for diverse youth audiences.
Grants & projects
She is a core team member of the REMEDIS project (Horizon Europe), responsible for developing evaluation frameworks and stakeholder recommendations across twelve European intervention pilots.
