Joy Monkhouse is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Coventry University's CAS School of Arts & Creative Industries and holds the status of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). With over 15 years of professional experience spanning Design Management, children's educational publishing, e-learning, multimedia, instructional design, marketing communications, and project management, she integrates substantial industry expertise into her academic work.
Her research spans Design and communication, Health and communication strategies, Employability and professional accreditation, Digital publishing and illustration, and Design management. She focuses on transdisciplinary intersections between creative practices, health communication, and professional development, with significant contributions to community-based healthcare innovation for COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and employability frameworks in creative education.
