Josianne Magnin

PD Dr. Josianne Magnin is a Senior Academic Assistant and Lecturer in Public Law at the University of Lucerne, affiliated with Prof. Dr. Nicolas Diebold's chair. She holds a law degree from the Universities of Lucerne and Neuchâtel (2014), a doctorate in 2016, and completed her habilitation in 2024, earning the Venia Legendi for Public Law and Competition Law. Her research focuses on police and state liability law, competition law, and public law. She is also an attorney at law and partner at Schärer Attorneys at Law in Aarau since 2018. Notably, her doctoral thesis was awarded the Prof. Walther Hug Prize and the Lucerne University Association’s dissertation prize. She has held legal internships in Zurich, Brussels, and Aarau, and her academic work bridges legal practice and scholarly research.
