Dr. Joshua Slysz is an Instructor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Physiology, emphasizing self-regulated learning skills in first-year courses. He holds a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Prince Edward Island, an M.Sc. in Applied Human Science, a Ph.D. in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Guelph, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Northwestern University.
His research spans clinical exercise physiology, ischemic preconditioning, and peripheral artery disease. Notable publications include studies on exercise interventions in vascular health and mechanisms of performance enhancement in athletes. Dr. Slysz has contributed to high-impact journals such as Journal of Vascular Surgery and European Journal of Applied Physiology.
