Joshua M. Nason serves as Professor of Architecture and Dean of the Hammons School of Architecture at Drury University, holding faculty status since 2024 after prior teaching roles at Texas Tech University and the University of Texas at Arlington where he was assistant director of the School of Architecture.
His academic credentials include:

- MBA, Texas Tech University, 2007
- M.Arch., Texas Tech University, 2007
- PP M.Arch (ADD), Cornell University, 2009
Nason's research investigates dynamic connections between people and places through architectural representation, urban mapping, and design-build practices. He directs the experimental Iterative Studio research collective and emphasizes experiential learning where drawing, writing, and building mediate human-environment relationships. His work examines duality in spatial representation and design's narrative potential, notably through the "Place Pavilions" projects and "Drawing Conclusions" podcast exploring architectural representation.
As an educator, he teaches architectural design, making, urbanism, and theory while leading the Design-Build Center for Community Studies. His curricular innovation focuses on empowering students to impact the built environment through hands-on community projects.
Nason directs both the Iterative Studio research collaborative and Drury's Design-Build Center for Community Studies, facilitating experimental design research and community-engaged construction projects.
