Joshua Lewis is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, where he joined in 2020. His research lies at the intersection of consumer behavior, judgment and decision-making, and global risk management. He investigates how individuals and policymakers perceive and respond to low-probability, high-impact risks and how behavioral biases shape decision outcomes.

Professor Lewis is actively involved in mentoring and collaboration. He welcomes PhD students, research assistants, and co-authors interested in decisions about global risks. His academic background includes a PhD in Decision Processes from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Economics from the University of Warwick.
He is affiliated with research teams exploring AI and human judgment, behavioral public policy, and collective action problems. His future work aims to improve risk communication, advocate for mitigation strategies, and develop behavioral tools for policymakers.
