Joshua Hertel is a Professor in the Mathematics & Statistics Department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He specializes in mathematics education with a focus on technology integration, alternative assessment methods, and trigonometry pedagogy. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Illinois State University (2013), following a Master's (2010) and undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Music Education from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire (2005).
