Joseph Turow is the Robert Lewis Shayon Professor of Media Systems & Industries at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania. His expertise spans data privacy, digital culture, and the intersection of media institutions with technology. Turow holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D., all from the University of Pennsylvania.
Research & Awards: A leading scholar in media fragmentation and digital privacy, he has authored 12 books and over 160 articles. Notable works include The Daily You and The Aisles Have Eyes. Awards include the International Communication Association Fellowship and the McGovern Health Communication Award. His research has been supported by major foundations like MacArthur and Robert Wood Johnson.
