Henry Jenkins is the Provost Professor of Communication, Journalism, Cinematic Arts, and Education at the University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School. He leads the Civic Paths research group and the Annenberg Innovation Lab, focusing on participatory culture, civic engagement, and digital media literacies. Previously, he spent 20 years at MIT, co-founding their Comparative Media Studies program.
His research spans participatory politics, fan culture, and transmedia storytelling, with over 20 authored or edited books. Notable works include Convergence Culture, Spreadable Media, and By Any Media Necessary. Jenkins is also known for his podcast How Do You Like It So Far? and his long-running blog Confessions of an Acafan.
