Joseph Rhatigan, M.D., is an Associate Professor at Harvard University, holding dual appointments in the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Department of Global Health and Population) and Harvard Medical School (Department of Global Health and Social Medicine). He serves as Director of Curriculum Development for Global Health Delivery Training Programs at Harvard Medical School and Associate Chief of the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women's Hospital. His leadership roles include directing the Hiatt Global Health Equity Residency Program and co-directing Harvard’s Global Health Delivery Intensive summer program. Dr. Rhatigan graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he practices hospital medicine. His research focuses on global health equity and health service delivery in low-resource settings, leveraging case studies through the Harvard Global Health Delivery Project.
He holds affiliations with Partners In Health and is actively involved in postgraduate medical education leadership. His work emphasizes translating academic research into actionable strategies for equitable healthcare systems, particularly in underserved regions. Dr. Rhatigan’s contributions span curriculum development, residency training, and interdisciplinary collaborations to advance global health equity.
