Joseph Loposky

Joseph Loposky serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in Music Education and Brass Instruments within the Conservatory of Music at the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts. He concurrently holds the position of Director of Music at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, where he established a comprehensive program comprising 19 performing ensembles and advanced theory/technology courses.

Professional Expertise: Specializing in music education and trumpet performance, Loposky pioneered the “B” Bridges Program for U.S.-Japan musical exchange. His ensembles have performed at the White House (twice), National Gallery of Art (thrice), Madison Square Garden, and for Pope Benedict XVI’s 2008 New York visit. Current performance roles include principal trumpet positions with the Staten Island Philharmonic and Metro Chamber Orchestra of New York.

Performance Career: Active as a freelance musician with the New York Choral Society Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Trumpet Ensemble, and Staten Island Chamber Players. Recorded on Trafalgar, Itchibon, Ace, and MCA labels; appeared on MTV with The Fleshtones and Mexico National Television.
