Dr. Joseph Kim is an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Medicine and Director of the Prostate Cancer Research Program at Yale Cancer Center. He specializes in medical oncology with a focus on genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, testicular, and penile cancers. His clinical practice emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based care and advanced therapies such as immunotherapy and targeted agents based on genomic biomarkers.
Dr. Kim leads investigator-initiated clinical trials in genitourinary cancers, particularly prostate cancer. He has authored chapters in ASCO-SEP and edited sections of Current Oncology Reports. His research explores novel therapies, tumor DNA dynamics, and the role of androgen receptor pathways in cancer progression. He has received awards including the NCI's Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award and ASCO's Young Investigator Award.
Education: MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine (2007), BA in Biology from Covenant College (2001). Training includes residency at Emory University and a NIH fellowship.
