Joseph Hummel is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law. He teaches first-year legal writing, upper-level legal writing, and Law, Literature, and Popular Culture. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2008 and an undergraduate degree in English with a minor in American Studies from Boston College in 2005.
Prior to joining the College of Law, Professor Hummel practiced commercial litigation at Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC and served as in-house litigation counsel for a major tax services firm. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at UNT Dallas College of Law. His research focuses on legal pedagogy and the intersection of law and the humanities.
