Joseph D'Uva is a Professor of Art at Youngstown State University's Cliffe College of Creative Arts. He holds an M.F.A. and M.A. in Printmaking from the University of Iowa (2000), completed the Tamarind Institute's Professional Printer Training Program (1997), and earned a B.F.A. in Studio Art with a Painting/Printmaking emphasis from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1996).
D'Uva's artistic practice explores intersections of childhood, memory, and American cultural identity through themes like consumerism and pop culture. His work employs diverse printmaking techniques including lithography, screenprinting, and intaglio, often incorporating materials like flocking, gunpowder, and laser-cut paper. Notable projects include the Imaginary Self-Portraits series and Fifty Cents: D'Uva Collectables & Coleccionables installation.
He has previously held full-time faculty positions at Bowling Green State University, Lawrence University, and the University of Southern Indiana. Current activities include directing the YSU ART • Scotland Summer Study Abroad Program at Glasgow Print Studio.
