Dr. Joseph Charleman is an Associate Professor of Healthcare Management at St. Thomas Aquinas College’s School of Business, leading its Healthcare Management & Informatics MBA Program. He spearheaded the program’s accreditation as the only Digital Health Leader (DHL) master’s certificate in the U.S. With over two decades in healthcare, he integrates clinical experience, research, and education to address healthcare delivery challenges. His work emphasizes evolving healthcare systems, patient data management, and ethics.

Research focuses on healthcare informatics, management, and ethics, driven by his hands-on roles as a surgical technologist and Certified Surgical First Assistant. He advocates for global healthcare equity through humanitarian missions in Ecuador, Peru, and the Dominican Republic, earning multiple awards for his humanitarian efforts.
Professional roles include former Chair of Surgical Programs at Berkeley College and adjunct faculty at Kaplan University. He serves on the boards of the Association of Surgical Technologists and Healing the Children of New Jersey, contributing to medical missions abroad.
