Dr. Joseph Blondeau serves as Clinical Microbiologist and Head of Clinical Microbiology at Royal University Hospital, with academic appointments as Associate Professor of Pathology and Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Saskatchewan.
Research Focus: Antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, mutant prevention concentration (MPC) as resistance prediction tool, clinical outcomes of antimicrobial therapies, and diagnostic microbiology innovations. Develops testing protocols for resistance monitoring.
Clinical Leadership: Heads microbiology services for Saskatoon Health Region while conducting translational research on antibiotic efficacy testing. Authored reference guides on antimicrobial therapy (STAT series) for human and veterinary medicine.
