Josep Calbó Angrill is a Full Professor at the Department of Physics, University of Girona (UdG), affiliated with the Environmental Physics Research Group. His work bridges atmospheric radiation studies, climate change research, and renewable energy applications.

- Postdoc: MIT (USA), PNNL (USA), NOAA (USA), USQ (Australia), NIWA (New Zealand), HydroMET (Russia)
- Leadership: Director of UdG’s Institute of the Environment (2000-2003), Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer (2008-2013), Vice-Rector for Strategic Projects and Internationalization (2018-2025)
His research focuses on atmospheric radiation, interactions between radiation, cloudiness, and aerosols, and regional climate projections under global change. He also investigates solar/wind energy integration into climate models.
