Jose Ramon Pousa Estevez

Xosé Ramón Pousa Estévez is a professor of Audiovisual Communication at the University of Santiago de Compostela since 1996, affiliated with the Department of Communication Sciences and Faculty of Communication Sciences. He holds a Doctorate in Information Sciences (1995) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, focusing on Galician Radio Systems. His career includes roles as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Information Sciences (since 1993) and Secretary of the Galician Association of Communication Researchers. He has extensive media experience, including editorships at A Nosa Terra (1977-1979) and La Voz de Galicia (1979-1993), and directed Antena 3 Radio de Galicia (1990-1993).

His research interests span Audiovisual Communication, Media Studies, and the evolution of Galician media landscapes. He has contributed to collective works such as the 2010 publication on Xosé Chao Rego's legacy. He was a researcher in New Media trends (Online Media, Print) until 2023.
