Jorge Rueda serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Auburn University, contributing to construction engineering education and research.

- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University
- M.S. in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander
Research focuses on critical infrastructure domains including Construction Workforce Development addressing labor shortages, Risk Management frameworks for construction projects, Alternative Contracting Methods like design-build, Cost Engineering precision techniques, and Transportation Asset Management for aging infrastructure systems. His work bridges theoretical innovation with practical industry applications in civil engineering.
Dr. Rueda received the prestigious Fred Burggraf Award from the Transportation Research Board (TRB), collaborating with master's students Keren Xu and Karthik Pakalapati on this recognized research.
He actively mentors graduate students and leads significant industry partnerships, recently selected for the National Cooperative Highway Research Program project through the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine’s Transportation Research Board to develop guidelines for state Departments of Transportation.
