Ernest Tufuor is a Research Professor at Auburn University Transportation Research Institute (AUTRI), specializing in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Transportation System Planning, Microscopic Modeling, Highway Safety, and Resilience. Tufuor earned his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, M.S. from the University of Leeds, and B.S. from KNUST.
His work includes advancing travel time reliability methodologies, optimizing axle load limits for infrastructure resilience, and developing intelligent work zone systems. He has contributed to over 15 peer-reviewed articles since 2017, addressing topics like pandemic impacts on traffic, arterial roadway performance, and sensor technologies for transportation research.
Tufuor actively participates in national conferences, including the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting, showcasing Auburn University’s research contributions. His research aligns with AUTRI’s mission to advance transportation innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration.
