Jordi Renom Pinsach

Jordi Renom Pinsach is a full Professor at the Department of Social Psychology and Quantitative Psychology, University of Barcelona. Since 1987, he has focused on teaching, research, and university-business collaboration in psychometrics, educational measurement, and sports psychology. He leads the Testing-Quest project, specializing in methodological support for assessment tools. As principal investigator, he coordinates over 90 applied research projects in areas like test validation and organizational performance evaluation.

Academic training: Completed a Psychology Degree (1985) and PhD (1990) at the University of Barcelona. Current teaching includes Psychometrics, Sports Psychology, and Research Methods at both undergraduate and master’s levels.

Research interests center on psychometric instrument design, validation of assessment tools, and application of behavioral measurement in education, healthcare, and sports. His Testing-Quest initiative provides quality audits for tests used in organizational and educational settings, addressing issues like reliability, validity, and bias mitigation.

Key projects include developing competency assessment systems for healthcare teams (Hospital Clínic de Barcelona) and analyzing sports continuity factors in sailing federations. His work bridges academic research with practical applications through contracts with institutions like the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation.

Professional services include technical consultancy for appeals processes involving disputed test results, and training programs on test construction for professionals in education and HR. Active in sports psychology since 1985, he has developed over 200 training modules for coaches and sports organizations.
