Jonathan Taylor

Jonathan Taylor is a Professor and Graduate Advisor in the Department of Geography & the Environment at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Kentucky (2001), an MS in Geography from Southern Illinois University (1994), and a BA in Psychology from Washington University (1987). His research focuses on the geography of illegal drugs, future-oriented environmental studies, political ecology, and energy-environmental dynamics. Taylor teaches undergraduate and graduate courses such as GEOG 120 (Global Environmental Problems) and GEOG 530T (Political Ecology). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on drug policy, climate change, and Okinawa's environmental conflicts. Taylor serves as the Geography Department’s Graduate Advisor and holds leadership roles in university committees like the Academic Senate and the Center for Remote Sensing. His professional service includes roles as a reviewer for journals like Geographical Review and Geopolitics, and he has been featured in media outlets like NPR and the Christian Science Monitor.
