Dr. Jonathan Silcock is an Associate Professor in the School of Pharmacy & Medical Sciences at the University of Bradford, specializing in pharmacy practice and medicines management. He co-leads the NIHR-funded ISCOMAT programme (Improving Safety and Continuity of Medicines Management at Care Transitions) and leads the intervention development workstream for the Yorkshire & Humber Patient Safety Translational Research Centre's Deciding to Deprescribe programme.
His research examines medicines optimisation during care transitions, deprescribing for older adults with frailty, and medication safety. Current projects develop interventions to support safe medicines self-management during hospital-to-home transitions.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on medication safety at care transitions, polypharmacy management in frailty, and implementation of deprescribing protocols in primary care settings.
Dr. Silcock teaches pharmacy practice, evidence-based healthcare, and research design, while leading work-based learning initiatives and employer engagement for the School.
