Dr Jonathan Noonan is an Adjunct Research Associate at the Immunology Department of Monash University and holds honorary positions at the University of Glasgow and University of Melbourne. His expertise lies in the intersection of immunology and cardiovascular disease. He earned a BSc (Hons) in Immunology (2014) and a PhD in Infection and Immunity (2018) from the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on the adaptive immune system's role in chronic vascular inflammation and atherothrombosis. He leads projects at the Baker Institute, collaborating with Prof. Karlheinz Peter to model cardiovascular diseases using advanced methodologies like single-cell RNA sequencing.
- Grants: CASS Medicine/Science Grant, CSANZ-Bayer Young Investigator Award
- Key collaborations span multi-institutional networks in Australia and the UK.
His work contributes to UN SDGs related to health and well-being. Research interests include molecular imaging of vascular inflammation, T-cell dynamics in atherosclerosis, and therapeutic target discovery.
Lab affiliations include the Atherothrombosis and Vascular Biology lab at Baker Institute, with cross-disciplinary ties to cardiology and immunology departments.
