Prof Sir Jonathan Montgomery is a Professor of Healthcare Law at University College London (UCL), Faculty of Laws. He holds significant public service roles, including Chair of Oxford University Hospitals NHSFT and co-chair of the Department of Health and Social Care's Moral and Ethical Advisory Group. Previously, he chaired the Nuffield Council on Bioethics (2012-2017), the Health Research Authority (2012-2019), and the Human Genetics Commission (2009-2012). He was knighted in 2019 for contributions to bioethics and healthcare law and became a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2021.
