Jonathan Malloy is a Professor and the Honourable Dick and Ruth Bell Chair in Canadian Parliamentary Democracy at Carleton University's Department of Political Science. He also serves as Associate Dean (Research and International) in the Faculty of Public Affairs and is cross-appointed to the School of Public Policy and Administration. A Carleton faculty member since 2000, he holds degrees from the University of Waterloo (BA), Queen’s University (MA), and the University of Toronto (PhD). His research focuses on Canadian political institutions, parliamentary dynamics, Ontario politics, and PhD mentorship.
Key contributions include co-authoring *The Politics of Ontario* and *Fighting for Votes*, and co-writing *Work Your Career: Get What You Want From Your Social Sciences or Humanities PhD*. He has held visiting roles at Duke University (Fulbright Chair) and the Australian National University (Visiting Fellow). Awards include the Bell Chair. His work bridges academia and governance, emphasizing parliamentary reform and graduate education challenges.
