Jonathan Lee

Dr. Jonathan Lee is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms in breast cancer and cell motility, utilizing advanced bioinformatics, proteomics, and microscopy techniques. He is actively seeking graduate and honors students for his lab.

Research Themes:
The lab investigates two main areas: (1) Actin cytoskeleton remodeling during cell migration, particularly the roles of Filamin A and PI4KB, and (2) The oncogenic properties of PI4KB in breast cancer, including its role in signaling pathways, transgenic mouse models, and endosome recycling. The team also explores novel cancer therapies targeting PI4KB.

Technologies:
High-resolution fluorescence microscopy, live cell imaging, protein biochemistry, and bioinformatic analysis of gene expression.
