Jonathan Gruber is the Ford Professor of Economics and Department Head at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he has taught since 1992. He is a leading expert in health economics, behavioral economics, labor economics, and public policy. Gruber has been deeply involved in major healthcare reforms, including architecting Massachusetts’ 2006 health reform and advising the Obama administration on the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He has held significant roles, such as former Director of the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Health Care Program and former President of the American Society of Health Economists.
