Jon Kingsdale serves as an Adjunct Professor of the Practice of Healthcare Leadership at Boston University's School of Public Health while concurrently holding a Managing Director position at the Wakely Consulting Group. With 35 years of specialized experience in health care financing and policy, he was appointed by Governor Mitt Romney in 2006 to establish the Massachusetts Health Connector—the foundational model for national health insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Following his departure from the Connector in 2010, he has consulted for the federal government, over a dozen state governments, and private sector clients on ACA implementation strategies.
His professional focus centers on health care policy reform, health insurance system design, health care financing mechanisms, healthcare leadership development, and practical ACA implementation frameworks. This expertise stems from direct involvement in shaping state and federal health exchange architectures and advising diverse stakeholders on regulatory compliance and operational execution.
Professional recognition includes:
- Health Market's Top 10 ranking (2013)
- The Hill's Top 100 "People to Watch" list (2013) for advancing state-level ACA implementation
Through his dual academic and consulting roles, Kingsdale provides strategic guidance to governmental agencies and private organizations navigating health care reform, leveraging his pivotal role in developing the Massachusetts exchange model that informed national policy.
