Jonathan Garton is a Professor and Director of Academic Practice in the School of Law at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on charities law, equity & trusts, and legal history. He has authored influential books such as Moffat's Trusts Law (2020) and Public Benefit in Charity Law (2013), and is currently writing a monograph on commercial trusts. His work explores the legal frameworks governing charitable trusts and public benefit assessments, with contributions to comparative trust law and historical legal analysis.
Recent publications include chapters analyzing legal disputes over historical healthcare infrastructure and cross-jurisdictional charity regulations. His scholarship bridges historical and contemporary legal challenges, emphasizing the evolution of trust law principles.
